Technical Product Manager | Data Visualisation | Charts | Graphs | 2D Graphics
London - £120,000 - £160,000.
You’ll be joining an established software company building developer-facing products used in large-scale web applications. The business is product-led, with engineering and product working closely together to maintain and evolve a technically complex codebase.
The company develops and maintains a data visualisation capability that supports analytical and reporting use cases within web-based systems. The focus is on correctness, performance, and predictable behaviour rather than presentation-led design.
The team is experienced and fully in-house. As the product area continues to grow in scope and demand, the company is adding an additional Technical Product Manager to share responsibility with an existing product lead and support ongoing delivery.
The Role
This is a hands-on, technical product role.
You will sit between customers, engineers, and support teams, making sure real-world usage and feedback is translated into clear, well-defined work for developers, and that what ships behaves as expected.
You will not be expected to arrive with deep product knowledge on day one. Onboarding is structured and gradual:
- Initially focusing on customer questions and support issues
- Then validating and testing existing product functionality
- Progressing into defining requirements and owning features
Over time, you will take responsibility for specific areas of the product and become a subject-matter owner within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing customer queries and support tickets to understand product usage and gaps
- Researching charting and data visualisation behaviour to answer technical questions
- Writing clear user stories and acceptance criteria for engineers
- Creating and executing test cases to validate new and existing functionality
- Verifying that delivered work matches requirements and handles edge cases
- Supporting backlog refinement and prioritisation
- Conducting competitor and industry research where helpful
- Reviewing and improving technical documentation and examples
- Supporting release planning and coordination
Skills & Experience Needed
To be successful and progress through interview, you’ll need:
- A technical background (e.g. software engineer, test engineer, business analyst, or technical product role)
- Experience working with developers in an agile environment
- Strong attention to detail and structured problem-solving ability
- Working understanding of JavaScript and familiarity with modern web frameworks
- Domain knowledge of data visualisation — charts, dashboards, analytics, BI-style interfaces
- Experience working with charting tools or data-heavy UIs (specific libraries are not required)
What’s In It for You
- A technically serious product with real-world usage
- Clear onboarding, mentoring, and gradual increase in responsibility
- Close collaboration with experienced engineers and product peers
- Opportunity to own meaningful parts of a growing product
- No outsourcing — all development is in-house
- Hybrid working with a London office
- Private health insurance
- Gym membership
