Head of Information Governance

We currently have a new opportunity for a Head of Information Governance to join our team in Oldham.
We have an opportunity for a Head of Information Governance, in this role you will lead the Information Governance, information security and records management capabilities across Guinness. You will develop, execute and oversee the Knowledge and Information Management Strategy ensuring continuous improvement in Information Governance. You will act as the Data Protection Officer for the organisation and be the main point of contact with the Information Commissioner’s Office. You will also have responsibility for overseeing the introduction of the Social Tenants Access to Information Requirements at Guinness.

We know that how we do things is just as important as what we do, so you’ll not only have experience of managing an Information Governance function within a large organisation, but you’ll also but you’ll also be a confident collaborator, with the willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done and bring out the best in team members.
Essential experience:
- Strong track record of managing an Information Governance function within a large organisation.
- Knowledge and experience of Data Protection, Freedom of Information, Records Management and Information Security standards and leveraging best practice.
- Proven experience of managing Information Security Incidents including the co-ordination, response, mitigation impact and lessons learned and liaising with the ICO.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills, with the ability to lead, engage and influence at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Highly developed analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts/legislation to non-technical staff.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Experience of project planning and project management.
- Able to identify strategic priorities and respond efficiently to changing business needs.
- Knowledge of the regulatory environment for Housing Associations
Essential qualifications:
- Educated to Level 6 (Degree or equivalent) in Information Governance related subjects eg Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM)
