Principal AI Engineer - TWE 43569
About the Role
We’re seeking a Principal AI Engineer to lead the design and implementation of advanced AI solutions across our product and business ecosystem.
This is a unique opportunity to define and deliver an organisation-wide AI strategy — combining hands-on technical work with cross-functional influence to drive real impact.
You’ll work closely with senior technology and business leaders to shape how AI is embedded across products, operations, and internal processes. The role offers autonomy, scope, and visibility — ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of deep technical expertise and strategic thinking.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and deploy AI-powered systems and features that enhance product functionality and user experience.
- Develop and integrate agentic frameworks, RAG pipelines, and vector database architectures to support natural language and intelligent automation use cases.
- Fine-tune and customise LLMs (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, and other models) for specific business applications.
- Collaborate with engineering and data science teams to implement MLOps best practices — from deployment and monitoring to continuous iteration.
- Partner with commercial and operational teams to identify and automate processes that can be enhanced through AI tools.
- Ensure responsible and secure use of AI through data governance, model guardrails, and compliance measures.
About You
- Deep expertise in Python, machine learning, and data science.
- Experience building, deploying, and scaling AI models in Azure and/or AWS environments.
- Skilled in using LangChain, LangGraph, vector databases, and prompt engineering.
- Understanding of LLM optimisation, including context extension and RAG-based frameworks.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate complex AI concepts to non-technical teams.
- A proactive, creative mindset — comfortable operating with autonomy to build scalable, production-grade AI systems.
Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related STEM field.
- Experience with Azure Foundry, AWS SageMaker, or other model-serving tools.
- Prior exposure to SaaS, enterprise, or data-rich product environments.
Why This Role
- Play a central role in defining and executing an organisation-wide AI roadmap.
- Work directly with senior leadership on strategy and implementation.
- Shape the next generation of intelligent, data-driven products.
- Hybrid working environment with flexibility for deep technical focus and collaboration.
- Competitive compensation and the opportunity to build at scale in a high-growth environment.
If you’re passionate about building intelligent systems that create measurable impact — this is your opportunity to lead from the front.
