Why This Company?
Known for combining strategy consultants, data scientists, software engineers, and cloud specialists into high-performing product teams. The culture is built around ownership, rapid learning, and meaningful impact.
The company is a strategy, data, and AI consultancy solving high-impact challenges for some of the UK’s most influential private and public sector organisations. From financial services and consumer brands to central government, they design and deliver analytics, digital products, and AI solutions that create meaningful, measurable societal benefit.
They are expanding their cloud capability and hiring a Senior Cloud Engineer to help shape and scale the Azure foundations powering advanced analytics, AI, and platform engineering across the business. You'll work at the intersection of data, software, and cloud architecture — building secure, resilient, modern infrastructure that underpins products used nationwide.
This is a high-ownership role where you’ll collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, and product teams across multiple projects. You’ll report into our new Cloud Lead, who brings strong AWS expertise — so your Azure depth will immediately influence direction, standards, and technical decision-making.
What You’ll Do
You’ll play a key role in designing, automating, and optimising Azure environments across multiple products and client solutions. Your work will directly support analytics platforms, AI initiatives, and mission-critical data workloads.
You will:
- Design, build, and support scalable Azure cloud architectures across multiple delivery teams.
- Automate environment provisioning and deployments using IaC and CI/CD (Terraform, ARM/Bicep, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Deliver containerised and serverless solutions (AKS, Azure Container Apps, Functions, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
- Implement secure identity, networking, and infrastructure patterns (Azure Entra ID, VNets, routing, firewalls, Key Vault).
- Support Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and PostgreSQL/MySQL deployments for performance, resilience, and scalability.
- Work with data and AI engineering teams to build pipelines, enable ML workloads, and support platforms like Azure Foundry, Hub, and Search.
- Integrate DevSecOps and Zero Trust principles into delivery.
- Champion cost optimisation (FinOps) and strong disaster recovery practices.
- Provide technical mentorship and help shape our cloud culture as the team scales.
What Will Set You Up for Success - you should apply if you bring:
- Strong professional experience delivering Azure-first cloud solutions in production.
- Deep hands-on capabilities with Terraform/ARM/Bicep , CI/CD pipelines , and Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions .
- Solid containerisation skills (AKS, Kubernetes, Docker).
- Strong scripting ability — Bash, Python , or similar.
- Experience supporting cross-functional engineering teams.
- Comfort juggling multiple projects and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- A proactive, relationship-driven approach — someone who enjoys influencing best practice and being a “go-to” engineer.
- Bonus: any AWS exposure alongside Azure.
On offer:
- £6,000 annual training and conference allowance
- EMI share options
- Matched pension up to 6%
- Private Healthcare (Vitality)
- Work abroad for up to 1 month/year
- 25 days annual leave (+ buy/sell 5)
- Cycle-to-work scheme
- Modern central London office with events and premium refreshments

You’ll work on problems that matter — helping organisations improve fairness, efficiency, and decision-making at national scale.
