Technical Lead (London Area)

We are partnering with a mid-sized Investment Firm to identify an experienced Technical Lead to drive the delivery and modernisation of core business platforms. This is a pivotal role for a strong full-stack technical leader ready to shape the architecture and direction of a critical function during a cloud transformation journey.

About the Role:

As Technical Lead you will play a central role in designing and delivering enterprise-grade solutions, managing both legacy systems and the strategic migration to Azure-based cloud platforms.

You’ll lead by example, guiding a cross-functional team through complex technical decisions, ensuring code quality, delivery standards, and alignment with the wider enterprise architecture.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale modernisation while maintaining essential business systems used across global markets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical design and decision-making for all team deliverables, ensuring architectural alignment and long-term maintainability.
• Manage the end-to-end technical delivery of features, with a focus on quality, scalability, and performance.
• Work closely with architects to contribute to the ongoing evolution of enterprise systems, balancing innovation with operational stability.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring developers and fostering a high-performing Agile team culture.
• Collaborate with DevOps and platform engineering to implement CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and cloud-native best practices.
• Oversee the maintenance and gradual decommissioning of legacy systems while championing the shift to Azure cloud solutions.

• Languages/Frameworks: C#, SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, Python, React
• Cloud & DevOps: Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Functions, App Service Plans, CI/CD (Git, Octopus, Artifactory)
• Tools: Jira, Git, BDD frameworks
• Development Approach: Agile (Kanban), TDD/BDD, DevSecOps principles

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Technical Lead in a full-stack development environment, ideally within financial services or other regulated industries.
• Strong expertise in system design, software architecture, and cloud migration.
• Solid understanding of enterprise development practices and the full SDLC.
• Experience in delivering and maintaining high-availability systems across hybrid (cloud/on-prem) environments.
• Comfortable working with legacy technologies while strategically driving transformation.
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
