IT Service Bar Engineer (1st Line)

A leading UK - based managed service provider are looking to add a first line level engineer to their service delivery team at West Lakes Science Park in Celator Moor supporting a key UK infrastructure client of theirs.

This role will be a full time position based on site Monday - Friday.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform Break Fix on all supported IT equipment (desktop/laptop/tablet/printer/phone) where a known fix is available, ensuring normal service is restored as quickly as possible (or a work around provided) with minimal disruption to the customer, ensuring the customer is kept fully up to date with progress
• To replace consumable kit when spares are available, enabling a quick resolution with minimum inconvenience to the end user
• Ensure ticket logs are maintained in a timely and efficient manner (in line with SLA’s)
• To perform IMAC activities when formal requests are raised

To qualify:

• Must be eligible to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance, which typically requires 5 years of continuous residency in the UK.
• A good understanding of analytical troubleshooting
• A good understanding of networks and windows Operating systems
• Excellent communication skills
• Commercial troubleshooting experience not required but welcome
• Must have a full UK driver's license and own car
• Currently studying towards, or recently completed, a college course in IT, Computer Science, or a related subject (or equivalent qualification).
• Alternatively, strong interest in technology and willingness to learn through on-the-job training.
