Yolk Recruitment is partnering with a top-tier maritime technology firm that is expanding rapidly. They are seeking a skilled Test Engineer to join their team to ensure the readiness of their electronic products for market release.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating a range of electronic products through comprehensive testing processes. This role includes manual black-box testing, systems integration testing, and user acceptance testing, all with a focus on enhancing customer experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze project requirements and documentation.
  • Develop test conditions and acceptance criteria to ensure product usability.
  • Plan and perform tests for products using communication protocols like VHF, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
  • Conduct pre-compliance testing to meet certification standards.
  • Create and present detailed test plans, scenarios, and reports.
  • Set up and maintain test environments with necessary tools and connectivity.
  • Document and evaluate test results, manage defects, and retest fixes.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and issue resolution.
  • Design and execute regression test suites.
  • Monitor and report on test progress, product quality, and potential design improvements.
  • Coordinate with third-party testing companies for external validation.
  • Ensure products meet industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001:2015).
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Enhance team processes and procedures through collaboration.

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in test design, planning, and estimation.
  • Familiarity with various testing methodologies (SIT, UAT, regression).
  • Hands-on experience with electronics and mechanical components.
  • Proficiency with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Zephyr).
  • Understanding of requirements traceability and SDLC.
  • Experience testing on Android and iOS devices.
  • Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Use of test support tools (multimeters, data loggers).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., SVN, BitBucket).
  • Degree in electronics or communication (preferred).
  • ISEB/ISTQB certification or equivalent (preferred).
