Given our status as a small company, you will have ample opportunities to be involved in various aspects of a vibrant and dynamic workplace.
Our vocational training offers hands-on, supervised instruction in constructing products and cable assemblies. You'll receive comprehensive lessons on soldering techniques and product assembly, covering everything from PCBs to power supply and control modules. You will also support mechanical assembly and aid in building world-leading instrumentation.
Training
Apprentices will undertake a Level 3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship Standard programme. This will include a full-time period of practical workshop based ‘off-the-job’ training at SETA’s Apprenticeship Centre in Southampton.
You will also complete a knowledge qualification (depending on your prior attainments) where you will be required to attend SETA one day a week over two academic years.
After your initial training at SETA, you will be with your employer working on developing your skills; ultimately leading to your End Point Assessment.
To achieve full certification SETA will make regular visits during your time in the workplace to ensure you are developing all the required skills within the Standard, including the specified behaviours and checking your theory knowledge via professional discussions.
All training culminates in your EPA, these final tests are administered by an independent assessment organisation and take place in the last three months of the apprenticeship.
By the end you will have one of the following qualifications;
1) Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) – Awarding organisation EAL; GLH 750, or
2) Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Technical Knowledge) – Awarding organisation Pearson; GLH 720 or
3) Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) Awarding organisation City & Guilds; GLH 720.
Begin your career journey as an Electronics Technician. Starting with an apprenticeship, you'll gain hands-on experience and fundamental skills.
