Day Rate: £500

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong higher education experience and proven delivery of projects involving HESA Data Futures. The role will lead and coordinate institution-wide data, reporting, and regulatory projects, ensuring compliance, quality, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of projects related to HESA Data Futures, statutory returns, and student data transformation
  • Manage project plans, timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies
  • Work closely with academic departments, registry, IT, planning, and data teams
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and sector best practice
  • Coordinate system changes, data migration, and process improvement initiatives
  • Provide clear reporting and updates to senior stakeholders and governance groups
  • Support continuous improvement of student data quality and reporting capability

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within Higher Education
  • Hands-on experience delivering projects involving HESA Data Futures
  • Strong understanding of student data, statutory returns, and regulatory reporting
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across academic and professional services
  • Experience working with IT systems, data platforms, and third-party suppliers
  • Strong planning, documentation, and communication skills

Desirable

  • PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent project management qualification
  • Experience with student records systems (e.g. SITS, Banner, Tribal)
  • Knowledge of wider HE data and reporting frameworks
