Our client, a high profile charity, are looking to bring on a Financial Reporting Developer as they implement Microsoft Business Central across the organisation. The successful candidate will lead development and maintenance of financial reports in Power BI, enabling clear, accurate, and actionable insights that support data-driven decision making. Workingclosely with Finance and stakeholders across the organisation, you’ll gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective Power BI solutions. You’ll also collaborate with the Central Data team under the Head of Data (Digital & Technology) outside of key financial reporting cycles to support broader organisational reporting needs.

Duties:

  • Design a methodology for standardised reporting of financial data both within Finance and across the organisation.
  • Lead the design and development of Power BI reports linking to Business Central that provide the regular budget and forecast reporting for the Finance teams supporting the needs of regular reporting and business as usual processes. These should be maintained once in place and established.
  • Create ad-hoc reports for use by the Financial Reporting and Analysis team to deliver meaningful business intelligence across the organisation.
  • Support the Financial accounts team to develop system generated reporting to form the basis of the statutory accounts.
  • Lead on the creation of monthly management accounts reports to underpin analysis by the Financial Planning & Analysis team.
  • Design, build and maintain a suite of easy to access and understand reports for use by budget holders across the organisation through Power BI.
  • Operate as part of the Digital & Technology team, developing and creating Power BI reporting across the organization as capacity allows.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and relevance in all reports produced.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data connectivity and report performance.
  • Provide training and support to users on interpreting and using the Power BI reports developed
  • Continuously improve reports developed in line with changes to reporting processes and visualisation standards.

Experience

  • Strong experience in developing Power BI reports and dashboards, with a proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data design, data modelling, data management and data visualisation (within Power BI).
  • Experience of both data manipulation and analysis of large scale financial datasets.
  • Strongunderstanding ofstatistical concepts.
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting and budgeting concepts.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems. A
