Senior Power BI Developer Local Government
£591 per day. Inside IR35

Salt Recruitment is working with a Local Government body in Central London to recruit an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to support the delivery of council-wide business intelligence and reporting.
This is a senior, hands-on role working closely with service leads and corporate stakeholders to deliver high-quality Power BI solutions that support decision-making, service improvement, and organisational change.
The roleYou will take ownership of Power BI development across multiple service areas, transforming complex data from a range of council systems into clear, meaningful insights. You will work across the organisation on high-impact projects, including organisational redesign and service transformation initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design, development, and delivery of Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Translating complex business requirements into robust BI solutions.
- Working directly with senior stakeholders across council services and corporate functions.
- Extracting, modelling, and transforming data from multiple council systems.
- Supporting complex, multi-disciplinary projects that drive organisational and cultural change.
- Ensuring reporting outputs are delivered within agreed scope, quality, and budget.
- Producing and maintaining all required documentation.
- Demonstrable experience delivering Power BI solutions within Local Government.
- Strong hands-on Power BI development skills, including data modelling and DAX.
- Experience working with complex, multi-source public sector data.
- Proven ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting large-scale transformation or organisational change programmes.
