Job Overview

Ensure that the manufacturing system is maintained and production volumes are met by releasing and closing out jobs and associated components and materials.
As well as resolving any system errors, as the products are completed in production.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Use of MRP System to: -
  • Configure Repaired Wheelsets
  • Configure Gear Box Jobs
  • Set up Wheel & Axle Jobs
  • Analyse and understand customer and production demand to help priorities
  • Closing of Completed Jobs
  • Correct and log system and process errors in order to achieve output
• Liaison with Technical Department to ensure system is accurate.
• Liaison with IT Department for system development.
• Cover for other department members.

Epicor (MRP) Development:

• Be a key member of current and future Epicor projects.
• Participate in the continued drive to successfully integrate Epicor into business processes.

Experience / Qualifications

• Good Microsoft office skills – Confident with Excel.
• Good communication and written skills.
• Problem Solving.
• Attention to detail.
• Exposure to Lean Principles.
• Team player.
• Understanding of ERP Systems & Principles, Epicor / SAP or Other.
• Experience of MRP.

12-month fixed-term vacancy for a "Wheelset Configurator" based in Trafford Park.  Salary in the region of £24-£26K.

This may lead to a permanent opportunity within the planning team.

Hours of work:
37 hours per week – Monday to Thursday 8am until 4pm; Friday 8am until 3:30pm.  Option to work the Early Finish Friday hours – either 7:30am until 4pm or 8am until 4:30pm Mon-Thurs and 8-1pm Friday.
