Agile Strategy & Transformation Consultant – Financial Services

Location: London (Hybrid)

Level: Principal Consultant

  • Salary: Principal Consultant: up to £100,000 + £6,000 travel allowance
  • Bonus (up to 15%) plus pension and full benefits package

Overview

A leading global management consultancy is expanding its Agile Strategy & Transformation capability within Financial Services. This team is recognised as a thought leader in organisational agility, helping major banking and financial services organisations fundamentally re-design how they operate, deliver value, and respond to change.

This is an advisory-led transformation role, not delivery-focused. The team is specifically looking for candidates with experience shaping enterprise-wide agile strategy, operating models, and ways of working, rather than hands-on Agile Coaches or delivery-only Project Managers.

You will work with senior executives to design and embed sustainable, value-driven change across complex, regulated organisations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to agile strategy and transformation programmes across Financial Services clients
  • Design and embed enterprise agile operating models aligned to commercial and regulatory objectives
  • Advise executives and senior leaders on adopting and sustaining agile ways of working at scale
  • Connect organisational strategy to portfolios, products and teams to deliver measurable outcomes
  • Support the transition from projects to products, including funding models, governance and prioritisation
  • Work in blended client/consulting teams, enabling change with clients rather than to clients
  • Contribute to a vibrant agile community alongside experts in strategy, digital, operational excellence, people and change

Required Experience

  • Strong Financial Services domain knowledge (banking, insurance, asset management, payments or pensions)
  • Proven experience in agile transformation at scale, ideally within a consulting or advisory environment
  • Experience designing business and operating models that work end-to-end across organisations
  • Executive-level stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience enabling organisational change through skills, behaviours and leadership alignment
  • Exposure to shared services, operations and engineering interlock within large enterprises

Desirable Experience

  • SAFe (including SPCT), LeSS or Scrum@Scale
  • Certified Kanban (or equivalent)
  • Lean Portfolio Management (LPM)
  • Product lifecycle management and product operating models
  • Experience supporting regulatory change (e.g. Consumer Duty)
  • Experience leading or running consulting assignments

Location & Working Pattern

  • London-based
  • Hybrid working, typically 2–3 days per week in the office or on client site
  • Client travel required depending on assignment
