Data Analyst| Fully Remote (UK-based) | Permanent | SQL, Python, Looker, AWS
We are looking for a confident Data Analyst who’s experienced in writing complex SQL and Python scripts, building lightweight pipelines and presenting insights to business stakeholders using Looker Studio. You’ll be joining a fast-moving company in the Media Streaming sector and sit within a small, collaborative analytics function where there’s no separate data engineering team. You’ll own your data end-to-end, from extraction and validation through to automation and insight delivery. We are looking for someone who gets their hands dirty with the data, produces actionable insights, and automates everything they can.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Use SQL and Python (pandas, NumPy) daily to clean, join and transform data into analysis-ready tables.
- Build and maintain lightweight automated pipelines to refresh reports and validate data with minimal manual intervention.
- Create and update dashboards in Looker (experience with Power BI or Tableau also welcome).
- Implement automated data validation checks to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Translate complex data into clear, concise insights and visual narratives.
- Produce customer-ready insight reports used by internal and external teams.
- Document everything you build and apply version control (Git) for reproducibility.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Technical Skills – Must Have
- Strong SQL: confident writing complex queries, joining large datasets, and optimising performance.
- Strong Python: comfortable with pandas, NumPy, and writing automation scripts.
- Looker (or similar BI tool): able to create and maintain dashboards; happy to cross-train if experienced in Tableau or Power BI.
- Understanding of data validation and quality assurance techniques.
- Familiar with Git/version control and collaborative data practices.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS preferred).
DATA ENGINEERING / AUTOMATION
- Able to design lightweight pipelines and automated processes (we are not expecting skills at the level of a Data Engineer).
- Experience scheduling data refreshes and monitoring job reliability.
- Understands the importance of automation - “no manual reporting.”
- Enthusiastic about the engineering side of analytics and eager to streamline workflows.
COMMUNICATION & PRESENTATION
- Excellent communication skills and confident presenting insights to non-technical audiences.
- Capable of producing customer-facing presentations and collaborating with Customer Success teams.
- Understands how to tell the story behind the numbers.
EXPERIENCE LEVEL
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Data Analyst.
- Should have worked in a business environment, ideally within a SaaS, startup or fast-paced setting.
- Comfortable operating autonomously as part of a small team.
Fully remote (UK-based only) – they meet up roughly twice a year.
N.B. They do not offer visa sponsorship and won’t consider those on short term visas.
