IT Apprenticeship

We have a fantastic opportunity for a hard working and committed individual to come and join the bott team. We employ 200 people at our Bude site with teams across manufacturing, design, finance, customer service, etc. Our IT team have some very exciting projects planned & are looking for an apprentice to join them & develop their own IT journey.

Role

The role of an ICT involves undertaking a vast array of specialist roles supporting business critical requirements and focus on customer solutions. Networking, Server, IT Essentials, Secure Communications, programming, and databases are just an example of typical tasks and projects undertaken within the likely areas of employment. 

You will:  

  • Learn how to use tools to problem solve, troubleshoot, and resolve IT issues as well as monitor and maintain systems and/or platforms to maximise productivity and user experience  
  • Find out how to install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware and/or software faults and solve technical and application problems, either remotely or in person  
  • Learn about the role of an ICT, which involves undertaking a vast array of specialist roles supporting business critical requirements and focus on customer solutions. Networking, Server, IT Essentials, Secure Communications, programming, and databases are just an example of typical tasks and projects undertaken within the likely areas of employment  
  • Be taught a range of topics, including how to set up IT Systems for new users; customer support, maintenance processes; basic elements and architecture of computer systems; recording, analysing and communicating data; cabling and connectivity and effectively operating a range of mobile devices  
  • Choose from three optional pathways – Support Technician, Network Technician or Digital Communications Technician 

This Apprenticeship is ideal if you are interested in hardware, software, network systems, and enjoy problem-solving. 

Training

Based from our Bude site, the Apprentice will then have day release to attend college in Exeter.

The apprentice is responsible for getting themselves to and from college.

Opportunity to develop within IT team and on progression, gain extra responsibilities and potential for additional courses.

Working Week
The Apprentice is offered an employment contract with bott however the apprenticeship course is for 18 months. Usual working hours will be 8am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3.30pm on Friday.
