Senior Assistant - Payment Solutions & Projects

Clearing & Payments department supports the Bank in a back office capacity, supporting the Bank's operational processing for various banking product, working with retail branches and front office teams to support London Branch and Subsidiary customers. As a Senior Assistant – Payment Solutions and Projects, you will be responsible to assist with project management and system implementation for projects like the CHAPS - SWIFT Payment System ISO20022 Migration. You will be raising system upgrade requests, creating and running testing scripts (internal, UAT, PAT, PAG) with accuracy, and ensuring timely project management reports are submitted to Management. You will also be assisting with CHAPS assurance, supporting monitoring shifts and ensuring compliance with CHAPS rules and the Bank's policies. This is a full time permanent position.

Key responsibilities

  • Raise system upgrade requests to IT, assist with writing detailed system requirements, and ensure appropriate testing (internal, UAT, PAT, PAG) is performed prior to implementation
  • Assist the department in the review and optimisation of the existing operational process for the efficiency and control improvement
  • Assist with project management, including planning, execution, and rollout of new initiatives such as system upgrades, new functionalities and workflow enhancements
  • Participate in initial discussions and requirement gathering to ensure operational readiness and prepare necessary documentation for project meetings
  • Create testing scripts and scenario test cases, run scripts with accuracy, and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders on end-to-end testing as guided
  • Be responsible for change assessment following system upgrades and assist with the rollout of change processes across related teams and departments
  • Assist the team lead in coordinating, managing, and tracking all departmental change activities to ensure compliance with the change management framework, including assessing impacts, liaising with stakeholders, and supporting change testing and closure
  • Support CHAPS monitoring shifts on a rotation basis as a nominated CHAPS operator and assist CHAPS representatives to ensure full compliance with the latest published CHAPS rules and regulations
  • Ensure project management reports are submitted on time, handle post-project process governance, and deliver training and education for internal staff

Requirements

  • Degree educated in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Marketing or other relevant subject
  • Proven experience in system testing, Banking payment products and processes, and global payment schemes, such as CHAPS, SWIFT, ISO20022, FASTPAY, BACS, CIPS and CHATS
  • Experience in project management and payments risk management
  • Understanding of risk and controls knowledge and relevant policies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in Mandarin is preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • IT background with coding skills, such as XML/ SQL is preferred
  • Team player
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
