IT Field Engineer

Join our Operations and Technology team as an IT Field Engineer and play a crucial role in ensuring our technology infrastructure runs seamlessly across all our locations. You’ll work closely with colleagues and customers to provide excellent IT support, troubleshoot issues, and maintain our systems to support business growth. We’ll provide comprehensive training and a supportive environment so you can get up to speed quickly and be empowered to make a real impact from day one.

Key responsibilities as IT Field Engineer
  • Deliver hands-on IT support for hardware, software and networking issues across multiple store and office locations, ensuring minimum disruption to operations.
  • Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, point-of-sale (POS) terminals, printers, wireless devices and mobile technology according to company standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT faults efficiently both remotely and on-site, communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Maintain detailed records via the IT ticketing system, keeping stakeholders updated and ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding issues.
  • Support rollouts of new technology, upgrades and projects, collaborating with the wider IT team to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Monitor and report on system health, proactively addressing potential issues to keep our business running smoothly.
  • Comply with all IT security policies and ensure that data security best practices are followed at all times.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers and vendors on repairs and warranty work as required.
What we’re looking for in our next IT Field Engineer
  • Proven experience providing IT support in a field-based or multi-site environment.
  • Solid technical knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, basic networking, and mobile device management.
  • Experience troubleshooting a range of IT hardware (desktops, laptops, printers, POS systems).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in simple, clear terms.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across regions with occasional overnight stays.
  • Ability to prioritise, work independently, and manage multiple tasks with a proactive approach.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a positive, adaptive attitude.
  • Desirable: IT qualification (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft certifications) or equivalent relevant experience.
