IT Manager

Location: Sheffield Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 Hours: 8am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 9am – 3pm Friday Contract Type: Permanent Role Overview We are looking for an experienced and proactive IT Manager to join our growing team at Blue Chip PFP Ltd. This is an exciting opportunity for someone ready to take on a management role with full responsibility for our internal IT infrastructure and systems. You’ll play a key part in bringing our IT function in-house, managing systems, supporting staff across multiple sites, and driving innovation in IT across the business. You will be expected to travel between both sites in Sheffield and Birmingham and support our operations on major client sites.About Us At Blue Chip PFP Ltd, we specialise in providing high-quality passive fire protection solutions to ensure safety and compliance in the construction industry. Our team is dedicated to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction, making us a leader in the field.Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the Business Manager
  • Take full ownership of all internal IT operations across the company
  • Support a team of both office and site based employees with IT-related needs
  • Manage and maintain servers and backup systems
  • Ensure licensing compliance across all software and platforms
  • Handle day-to-day IT support: hardware, software, and system troubleshooting
  • Implement and maintain a ticketing/helpdesk system
  • Procure, install, and configure all IT equipment (laptops, desktops, mobile devices, etc.)
  • Provide user support and training for MS Office, SharePoint, OneDrive, Adobe, AutoCAD, Sense HR, Xero, and more
  • Explore opportunities to improve and innovate IT services across the business
  • Manage data security, backups, and disaster recovery processes
  • Liaise with third-party providers and coordinate any outsourced support as needed
  • Visit project sites across the UK as required to support remote teams
Qualifications and Experience Essential:
  • Proven experience in an IT support or systems administrator role
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive), Windows OS, and general networking
  • Experience managing IT hardware, software, and troubleshooting
  • Good understanding of licensing and system compliance
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Desirable:
  • Experience with Xero, Sense HR, Adobe, AutoCAD
  • Exposure to BIM and Bolster systems
  • Experience supporting remote or multi-site teams
  • Previous experience in construction or related industries
