The Role
The IT Infrastructure Engineer will support, maintain, and develop the College’s IT infrastructure, systems, and endpoint environment. This includes networks, servers, cloud services, security, and end-user devices (Windows and macOS).
The postholder will act as an escalation point from the Service Desk, ensuring that technical issues are resolved promptly and effectively. They will also contribute to infrastructure and systems projects under the direction of the Infrastructure Team Lead.
This is a broad role, providing flexibility to cover different aspects of the infrastructure estate, with scope to develop deeper expertise in agreed areas over time.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:
Infrastructure & Systems
• Support the administration of networks, WiFi, servers, storage, and firewalls.
• Assist with the management of Azure AD, Microsoft 365, and other cloud services.
Endpoint & Applications
• Manage Windows devices using Intune/Autopilot.
• Manage macOS devices using JAMF (or equivalent MDM).
Support & Escalation
• Act as an escalation point for Service Desk for infrastructure, systems, and endpoint issues.
Projects & Development
• Contribute to infrastructure and systems projects led by the Infrastructure Team Lead.
Other
• Provide occasional support with IT Technician duties during peak times, including end-user support, to ensure adequate resourcing.
• To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required commensurate with the nature of the post.

The Successful Candidate
Cardinal Newman College is a wonderful place to work, and this is an exciting opportunity for a enthusiastic and experienced candidate to join our friendly and well established Networks department.
The Networks department is looking for someone who has hands on experience supporting and managing Windows devices using Intune/Autopilot, exposure to macOS device management (JAMF or equivalent MDM and good understanding of endpoint management and security best practice.

Terms and Conditions
Hours: 37 hours per week, full year. Starting and finishing times as agreed.
Salary: The post will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges’ Support Staff Pay Spine at points 19 to 21 £36,564 to £38,897 per annum.
