Senior Information Technology Engineer

If your experience is centred on backups, recovery, Azure best practice, monitoring and project delivery, this is a role where you will shine.

We are looking for a GTS Engineer who can take ownership of business continuity and disaster recovery across Microsoft 365 and Azure. You will design, test and maintain recovery strategies, lead backup operations including immutable and off site retention, and run structured recovery tests that genuinely improve resilience.

You will also support wider infrastructure spanning servers, storage, networking and identity, while keeping risk, compliance and ISO 27001 evidence current and audit ready. Clear documentation, strong communication, and confident presentation of risk based recommendations will be key.

This role is ideal for someone who brings proven delivery of enterprise grade recovery, strong Azure and Microsoft 365 capability, and an organised approach to testing, learning and improvement.

What you will work on

• Ownership of continuity and recovery for Microsoft 365 and Azure

• Backup strategy, restorations and routine recovery testing

• Infrastructure and architecture support across core technologies

• Risk and compliance records with full ISO 27001 audit preparation

• Clear process guides, runbooks and change submissions

• Cyber risk tracking, mitigation plans and stakeholder reporting

• Leading DR exercises and capturing measurable improvements

• Partnering with Security, Service Desk and vendors to resolve issues

Success in your first year

• Approved continuity strategy with tested recovery for top tier services

• Improved backup and restore success rates with monthly reporting

• Passing internal or external ISO 27001 audits

• Delivery of two end to end DR exercises with all actions completed

• Increased stakeholder confidence in resilience
