Overview:
Chapman Tate is supporting a high-profile client seeking a PMO Lead for a 6-month contract. This is a strategic role, focused on enhancing and maturing PMO capabilities at a portfolio level. This is not a delivery-focused PMO position; we are looking for someone who can demonstrate a proven track record of taking underperforming or immature PMO portfolios and transforming them into structured, high-performing functions that drive enterprise-wide outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have a consultative approach, with experience guiding senior stakeholders, facilitating workshops, and shaping PMO best practices to ensure investments collectively deliver maximum business value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the improvement and maturation of PMO frameworks, including processes, templates, toolkits, and governance standards.
- Assess portfolio PMO health and implement strategies to enhance structure, reporting, and effectiveness.
- Work consultatively with senior stakeholders, guiding prioritisation, delivery planning, and decision-making to ensure alignment with enterprise objectives.
- Facilitate workshops and collaborative sessions to drive portfolio-level clarity and ownership.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of portfolio investments, ensuring collective alignment to enterprise goals and maximum business value.
- Provide day-to-day leadership of the PMO function, including managing a PMO Analyst to support execution.
- Champion consistent reporting, governance, and portfolio performance metrics to enable informed decisions across the organisation.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in a PMO leadership role at portfolio level, ideally in financial services (building society experience advantageous).
- Demonstrable track record of transforming immature or underperforming PMO portfolios into mature, structured, high-performing functions.
- Experience facilitating workshops and engaging stakeholders to embed PMO improvement initiatives.
- Strong ability to define and implement PMO standards, frameworks, and toolsets.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trust across complex change environments.
- A consultative, strategic mindset, capable of working independently while aligning with enterprise goals.
If you’re a confident PMO Lead professional looking to bring structure and strategic alignment to a high-profile impact portfolio, apply now!
