VMWare Engineer

Role: VMWare Engineer Salary/Rate: £500-600 per day outside IR35 Location: Mainly remoteContract Duration: approx. 5 months

We are currently looking for a VMware Engineer for our IT Services client. This VMware Engineer role is mainly remote, with occasional UK office visits as required by the business. The contract for the VMware Engineer position is for 100 days, with potential to extend, operating outside IR35.

Security Clearance: Security Check ("SC Clearance")

This role is outside IR35.

Essential skills/experience required:

• Hypervisor design/build expertise
• VM configuration skill
• WSUS and Active Directory experience
• Familiarity with deployment automation tools (e.g., Ansible)

Role/responsibilities:

• Deliver the SecHost and integrate new SSN technologies (e.g., vCenter).
• Apply penetration test outputs; ensure IAM/VM tooling is embedded in builds.
• Document and update design changes during implementation/testing
• Prepare the ESXi SecHost
• Deploy KVM/Red Hat upgrades remotely, and validate
• Assist with secure vCenter deployment and configuration.
• Capture/document residual risks during design and site implementation
• Provide full build handover, including recorded sessions for teams.
• Develop automated, repeatable ESXi SecHost build processes
• Create clear build guides, FAQs, and testing procedures
• Establish update/rollback plans for SecHosts
• Document build/testing patterns for both KVM and ESXi
