Join the Close Brothers Controls Design and Oversight Team where you will act as the central point of coordination for technology and change related controls across the Group. Working as part of the Controls Design and Oversight team our ideal team member will have previous experience in providing assurance, governance, and assist in how risks and controls are managed, ensuring that activity is delivered in line with regulatory expectations with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Join the Close Brothers Controls Design and Oversight Team where you will act as the central point of coordination for technology and change related controls across the Group. Working as part of the Controls Design and Oversight team our ideal team member will have previous experience in providing assurance, governance, and assist in how risks and controls are managed, ensuring that activity is delivered in line with regulatory expectations with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the Technology and Change Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), ensuring submissions are complete, accurate, and aligned with Group standards.
- Run governance forums including the Bank Technology Risk Forum (BTRF) and Operations & Technology Risk Committee (OTRC), preparing the agenda, circulating papers, capturing minutes, and tracking actions to closure.
- Act as the day to day liaison point for internal and external audit in relation to Technology and Change, coordinating requests for evidence and assist with remediation activity.
- Oversee the design, embedding, and ongoing assurance of controls within Technology and Change (including IT General Controls (ITGC)), ensuring they remain effective and aligned with Group control standards.
- Empower and engage team members in an inclusive culture through coaching, mentoring and team-development in order to increase the performance of the individual and the team.
- Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE/ARE:
- Relevant experience in technology risk, controls, or assurance within a regulated financial services environment.
- Strong knowledge of controls frameworks and standards (e.g. COBIt, ITIL, NIST, ISO27000) and their application within technology and change.
- An ability to coordinate and deliver governance activities, including preparing agendas, drafting papers, tracking actions and producing MI.
- Proven ability to partner with technology and change teams to embed controls and assist remediation activity.
- Effective communicator with the ability to present clear, concise information in written and verbal form to a range of stakeholders.
- An encouraging team player, able to assist colleagues and manage a small team of analysts to deliver control testing outcomes.
- Awareness of identify and access management processes and tools (e.g. SailPoint) to support effective oversight of ITGCs and access control assurance.
- Awareness of regulatory requirements for technology and change risk in financial services.
- Familiarity with operational risk frameworks and control testing approaches.
- Experience assisting with internal or external audits in a regulated environment.
- Knowledge of reporting tools or data analysis techniques to support MI production.
- Professional certifications in risk or controls
