Job Title: 2nd Line Support Engineer
Location: Just outside Ipswich (Office-based)
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Are you an experienced IT Support Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? We're working with a leading business based just outside Ipswich who are seeking a 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their growing IT team.
This is a customer-facing, office-based role where you'll be responsible for resolving more complex technical issues, supporting a wide range of technologies, and working closely with key business users. Due to the location, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as an escalation point for 1st line support, taking ownership of 2nd line incidents and requests.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues across Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, networking, and hardware.
- Configure, install, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Work closely with key business stakeholders, delivering clear communication and excellent customer service.
- Assist with IT projects, system upgrades, and process improvements where required.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a 2nd Line IT Support or advanced Service Desk role.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and basic networking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and resolve issues effectively.
- Full, clean UK driving licence (essential due to location).
