Job summary

The post holder will take a lead role in designing, building and implementing AI-driven solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio to enhance service delivery, support decision-making, and drive organisational objectives.

The role will build agents and solutions to automate tasks, interact with users, and integrate with enterprise systems like Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Dataverse, and Power Platform. The role blends low-code development, prompt engineering, and workflow automation to create agents that enhance productivity in key finance tasks and delivering decision-making tools across business functions.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

  • Design, build, and deploy intelligent conversational agents (Copilot) using relevant and suitable AI platforms.

  • Leverage AI and automation platforms to create scalable, secure, and context-aware solutions that enhance productivity and streamline business processes

  • Plan and deliver AI solutions, making decisions that influence team and organisational outcomes within established frameworks.

  • Oversee the operational processes required to run and maintain AI products or services effectively.

  • Apply expert knowledge of product management techniques to guide development and delivery.

Other Duties:

  • Apply Agile practices to design, test, and deliver AI solutions, measuring performance and outcomes.

  • Analyse, challenge, and optimise organisational processes of increasing complexity, simplifying where appropriate.

  • Redesign and optimise operational processes, amending existing ones and planning the implementation of new products or services.

Job responsibilities

  • Engage stakeholders to identify, define, scope and prioritise business automation use cases
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, agent-based automation solutions
  • Design and implement AI-driven agents using Copilot Studio to automate
  • Build and optimise Power Automate flows across departments, integrating with business systems via APIs
  • Design and develop AI agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio (formerly Power Virtual Agents).
  • Build and configure topics, triggers, and dialogues to support natural language interactions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into conversational workflows.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing of AI agents to ensure accuracy, reliability, and user satisfaction.
  • Monitor performance using analytics and telemetry tools; iterate based on feedback and usage data.
  • Contribute to communities of practice to promote collaboration, shared learning, and alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Provide training and guidance to colleagues on AI/ML best practices, model deployment, and data analysis techniques, ensuring knowledge transfer and team capability development.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent qualification or professional experience.
  • Professional certification or equivalent experience in AI/ML, automation, or software development.
  • Practical experience in developing adaptable, scalable AI solutions, including prompt engineering or enterprise chatbot development.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development.
Desirable
  • Theoretical and specialist knowledge gained via relevant certification such as: o Scripting and data manipulation tools, such as, Python, PowerFX, SQL.
  • Knowledge of the NHS, other healthcare systems, or the health sector, including regional or national variations.

Experience

Essential
  • Proven experience delivering innovative, scalable AI or intelligent automation solutions that have improved service delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience leading AI-driven conversational solutions using AI/ML and NLP to achieve measurable service outcomes.
  • Proven experience analysing user interactions and system performance to deliver data-driven improvements in performance, compliance, or user satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Proficient in analysing large, complex datasets, structured and unstructured, to support fair, evidence-based decisions.
  • Proficient in using tools and techniques to extract useful insights from large datasets to support innovation and service improvements.
  • Proficient in applying programming languages to create secure, efficient, and maintainable software.
Desirable
  • Familiarity with AI and automation platforms for building and integrating intelligent solutions.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and deploying conversational agents with advanced logic and workflows.
