Service Information Governance Assurance Manager
Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity within our Clinical Directorate for an experienced Information Governance professional to join the IG support function for the National Data Resource (NDR) Programme.
The role is a temporary fixed term position to backfill a maternity cover arrangement.
What the role involves:
You will provide senior level operational support within the Information Governance Team, providing expert advice and guidance to stakeholders across a range of NDR Programme related projects. You will take responsibility for the full operational and management of information governance assurance requirements for NDR specific projects. You will be working as part of a dynamic and friendly team to support a priority national programme.

- Subject matter expertise in data protection and confidentiality.
- Data protection qualifications to practitioner level.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Someone who can take initiative and work proactively to find solutions to problems.
- Someone skilled in maintaining relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Significant experience in a similar role, would be advantageous.
This role will have a base of any of our DHCW offices.
Part-time, job share and/or flexible working options are also available.
Main duties of the job
As a key operational contact point for the NDR service enquiries and project support, the ideal candidate must be dynamic and have a flexible approach to working, along with excellent communication and organisational skills, to provide a first-class service.
Day to day you will be responsible for supporting our NDR stakeholders and project managers with their general enquires and IG assurance requirements, providing support with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and any required Data Sharing Agreements (DSAs). The post holder will be required to work autonomously and decide how best to achieve set objectives and targets under the broad direction of and agreed by the IG NDR Support Manager.
Experience in the NHS Information Governance and/or working in a Public Sector setting are desirable but not essential.
Due to geography and spread of our service you will be required to have a flexible approach to work and be able to travel on occasion to various sites across Wales as required; this may require overnight stays.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 14 months due to - meet the needs of the service

Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
- Relevant Master's or equivalent experience
- Evidence of further relevant higher degree level development/post graduate qualification - education and/or training
- Registered with a relevant informatics professional body
Experience
- Experience of producing high quality information for an internal and external audience
- Experience of working on projects that support better IG practice and highlight successes
Skills and Attributes
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills when dealing with a wide range of stakeholders
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across multi-functional teams and organisational boundaries
- Welsh language skills are desirable levels 1 or above in understanding, speaking, reading and writing in Welsh
