Systems and Software Developer

We are seeking an experienced Systems and Software Developer to design, maintain, and enhance internal databases, business systems, and IT infrastructure. This role is central to ensuring system reliability, data accuracy, and robust cybersecurity across the organisation.

Location: Burton upon Trent Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum DOE

Overview of the Role

In this role, you will develop and support databases, reporting tools, Salesforce solutions, and web portals while ensuring data integrity and efficient system performance. You’ll contribute to IT strategy, lead system integrations, support the network and applications, and work with suppliers to deliver practical, user-friendly solutions.

You will also play a key part in improving IT capability across the business, delivering user training and helping embed best practice in digital tools, AI, cybersecurity, and system usage.

Key Responsibilities (Summary)

  • Develop and maintain databases, internal systems, reports, Salesforce solutions, and web portals.
  • Ensure data accuracy, system performance, and strong cybersecurity.
  • Support network and application maintenance, minimising downtime.
  • Manage IT projects, including new system integrations and upgrades.
  • Work with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver efficient solutions.
  • Deliver training and guidance to staff on systems and PC usage.

About you

Experience:

  • Database application design (Visual Basic, Access or similar).
  • Salesforce configuration and development.
  • Awareness of cybersecurity risks and protection measures.
  • Understanding of digital tools, AI capabilities and best use of technology.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, report writing and form design - Salesforce
  • Telecommunications or telephone systems knowledge.
  • Experience with Equinox is beneficial, but full training will be provided.
