Overview

Our client is seeking Senior User Researchers to join their growing digital consultancy practice. This role is suited to experienced research professionals who can design, plan and lead user research activity, and who can champion user-centred design across complex digital programmes.

Working within multidisciplinary Agile teams, you will help shape services that truly meet user needs by conducting robust research, synthesising insights and using evidence to influence design decisions. As a senior consultant, you will also support capability development, stakeholder engagement and the wider growth of the practice.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on user needs and how to apply human-centred design and Agile methodologies to solve complex challenges.

• Lead multidisciplinary Agile teams in designing services shaped by research insights.

• Advocate inclusive research approaches, ensuring accessibility needs and assisted-digital considerations are fully understood.

• Build strong, supportive relationships with stakeholders, managing challenges with tact and clarity.

• Line-manage user researchers and mentor colleagues on how to maximise the value of research.

• Contribute to recruitment activity, consultancy events, thought leadership and new business opportunities.

• Promote user-centred design principles internally and externally.

Requirements

• Strong experience applying a range of user research methodologies in different contexts.

• Experience working in Agile, multidisciplinary teams to deliver user-centred services.

• Good understanding of accessibility requirements and inclusive research methods.

• Proven ability to champion user-centred design and service design approaches.

• Experience mentoring, training or line-managing other user researchers.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to handle challenging conversations sensitively.

• Understanding of wider Agile roles across design, product and engineering.

• Strong consultancy skills, with confidence exploring problem spaces and advising clients on appropriate research approaches.
