Software Engineering Manager – San Francisco AI Unicorn – London – ~£300k + Equity

Overview:

San Francisco-based AI unicorn is expanding into Europe following a $200M+ Series C. As part of this growth, the firm is establishing its regional HQ in London and hiring a UK-based engineering leadership team to drive the international rollout of its agentic AI platform: LLM-powered agents completing complex workflows autonomously.

Responsibilities:

• Lead engineering across agent design, deployment, and platform architecture
• Build production systems for LLM-based automation at scale
• Collaborate with product and research on cross-functional AI development
• Work directly with enterprise clients in finance, healthcare, and consumer tech
• Mentor junior engineers and scale the London engineering function

Requirements:

• 3+ years of engineering management experience
• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering (Python, Typescript)
• Strong grasp of async systems and production-level debugging
• (Preferred) Experience with multi-modal models or agentic ML systems

Compensation: ~£300k base + generous equity
