Commercial Lawyer
Interim Commercial Counsel (IP)
Contract Duration: 6-8 months
Role Overview
Our customer, a global technology leader is seeking an interim Commercial Counsel to support its businesses across EMEA. The successful candidate will work closely with internal business stakeholders and be embedded within the commercial function.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements with third-party partners across EMEA
- Support the acquisition and licensing of content for customer products
- Advise on intellectual property and licensing matters, including rights acquisition and usage terms
- Partner directly with business teams to enable commercial objectives while managing legal risk
- Provide pragmatic, solutions-oriented legal advice in a fast-paced, product-led environment
Required Experience & Expertise
- Qualified lawyer with solid post-qualification experience in commercial contracting
- Strong background in intellectual property licensing, particularly content or data licensing
- Experience supporting cross-border transactions and EMEA-based counterparties
- Comfortable operating as a hands-on legal partner to the business
- Ability to manage multiple matters independently and in parallel
Desirable Experience
- Prior in-house experience, ideally within technology, digital platforms, or content-driven businesses
- Exposure to consumer-facing or product-led environments
