IT Support Engineer – Northampton
£40,000 - £50,000 DOE
Elevation Tech & Transformation are exclusively recruiting an IT Support Engineer for one of our key clients based in Northampton. This is a hands-on role where you will support the Head of IT in managing and maintaining the organisation’s internal software, hardware and infrastructure, while delivering high-quality 1st and 2nd line support and working closely with third-party providers.
You will play a key part in ensuring systems are secure, reliable and continuously improved, while providing outstanding technical support to users across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1st & 2nd line IT support across the business
- Prepare and configure hardware, operating systems and applications
- Maintain IT systems documentation and user guides
- Create and manage user accounts and profiles
- Support the rollout of new applications and technologies
- Prioritise and manage workload using internal tracking systems
- Respond to support requests within agreed timescales
- Manage and maintain the IT asset management system
- Produce reports for the IT & Business Support Manager
- Identify and escalate recurring issues and risks
- Support existing infrastructure and core IT systems
- Assist with initiatives to improve productivity and security
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and best practice
- Keep IT equipment organised and safely stored
- Liaise with third-party IT providers on tickets and project work
Role Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in an IT support or infrastructure environment
- Strong experience with:
- Office 365, Azure, Active Directory, Intune
- Veeam, VMware, Hyper-V
- Familiarity with IT Asset Management tools and processes
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organisational and task management ability
- Confident challenging processes and proposing improvements
- Proactive, driven, and motivated to continuously improve
Desirable
- Exposure to Mitel telephony systems
- Knowledge of security products and the wider cyber threat landscape
