The role

We’re hiring a Backend Developer to join us at an early and exciting stage. You’ll play a key role in helping us scale as we grow our customer base.

Our product is built on a strong technical foundation, with experienced engineers who know how to architect robust systems. We’re looking for someone eager to jump in, build, and take ownership of meaningful parts of the backend.

We’re reimagining software for industries that have lacked modern tools for decades — you won’t just write code; you’ll help define what modern infrastructure looks like in this space.

Some key technical challenges you’ll work on:

• Building scalable backend features that support AI-powered workflows
• Developing data pipelines, APIs, and integrations that connect customer data and insights from legacy systems
• Optimizing database schemas, queries, and indexing to ensure low latency and high throughput
• Helping build CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, monitoring, and alerting systems for fast development and reliable production operations
• You’ll work closely with a highly experienced staff engineer and collaborate directly with the founding team to build out our AI system end-to-end. Our founders have deep experience in AI and care deeply about building trustworthy and scalable systems.

About you

• Highly driven and excited to build and prototype — personal projects or experiments are a big plus
• 5+ years of experience building and shipping backend services, ideally in fast-moving environments
• Strong Python skills — this is our primary backend language
• Comfortable working iteratively and adapting quickly
• Excited to work at the forefront of LLM technology
• No prior industry experience required — it’s a fun domain and we’ll teach you everything you need

Technical skillset

• Must: Python, REST APIs
• Nice to have: PostgreSQL, GCP or AWS, SQLModel/Pydantic/FastAPI/Alembic, Terraform, Docker, GitHub Actions
