Test Lead - for WMS implementations (SAP EWM)
Background/Context - Test Lead in Warehouse Management System (WMS):

• We're looking for a hands-on Test Lead with solid experience in Warehouse Management Systems.
• Someone who's not just leading from a desk, but willing to be on-site (Birmingham), coordinating testing activity across multiple teams, including 3rd parties and business users.

• Prior experience leading testing for WMS implementations (SAP EWM).
• Comfortable working on-site at the warehouse (Birmingham) and being between Blakelands and Birmingham as needed.
• Strong coordination skills - must be able to drive testing across fragmented teams and environments.
• Able to identify gaps, align dependencies, and get people to take ownership of their testing.
• Confident communicator who can represent testing in planning or readiness meetings.
• Flexible, proactive, and not afraid to escalate blockers early.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive test strategy for the SAP EWM project, including integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT) and Day in Depot (DiD) testing.
• Create detailed test plans that define the scope, objectives, resources, and timelines for all local testing activities. Work with the EWM programme team, business process experts and key-users to develop test cases and test scripts that cover all SAP EWM functionality and business process scenarios. Ensure that test cases are aligned with business requirements and include both positive and negative test scenarios.

• Coordinate and manage the execution of all test cases, ensuring that testing is conducted according to the test plan and within established timelines. Monitor and report on the progress of testing activities, including the tracking of test cases, defects, and issues.
• Identify, log, and prioritise defects discovered during testing, ensuring that they are addressed and resolved before go-live. Work closely with the EWM Programme team to ensure timely resolution of defects and retesting of fixed issues.
• Coordinate UAT activities, including the preparation of UAT environments, scheduling of UAT sessions, and support for key-users during testing. Collect feedback from UAT participants and ensure that all critical issues are resolved prior to go-live.
• Ensure that local system test environments are properly configured and maintained to support all testing activities. Coordinate with IT teams to manage data refreshes, system patches, and other environment-related tasks.
• Generate regular test reports and dashboards to communicate testing progress, defect status, and overall test coverage to project stakeholders. Maintain detailed documentation of all testing activities, including test cases, test scripts, defect logs, and test results.
• Ensure that all testing activities adhere to established quality standards and best practices. Conduct post-test reviews to identify areas for improvement and incorporate lessons learned into future testing efforts.
• Lead and mentor a team of testers/key-users, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of testing activities. Coordinate with the EWM Programme and local project team to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the testing process.
• This deliverable will detail the findings made from the test execution in terms of tests performed, defects raised and include details of whether test phase exit criteria have been met.
• Ensure that any pre-existing regression test packs are updated following the completion of testing on a particular project OR ensure that a suitable regression test pack is created ready for re-use on subsequent projects.
• Produce and refine resource estimates necessary to deliver the agreed test activities as outlined in the approach and feed this back to the Project Manager and Test & Quality Manager.
