You’ll join a growing infrastructure and platform team , working on the design, automation, and optimisation of cloud environments that power nationally used applications across the public and healthcare sectors.

Working Pattern

Hybrid working - 3 days onsite in Manchester , 2 days remote once up to speed.

The What…

As a DevOps Engineer , you’ll design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliability, performance, and security.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Designing and managing AWS environments (EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, VPC, Route53, IAM).
  • Implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform (modular, reusable code).
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines via GitLab CI or GitHub Actions .
  • Containerising applications with Docker , managing lifecycles via ECS, Fargate, and EKS .
  • Administering Ubuntu Linux systems and performing system hardening.
  • Applying networking fundamentals (DNS, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing).
  • Collaborating with development teams to ensure smooth and secure deployments.

What You’ll Bring

  • Hands-on experience with AWS services and Terraform .
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools and Git workflows .
  • Solid understanding of Docker and container orchestration.
  • Experience managing Linux environments (Ubuntu preferred).
  • Scripting ability in Python, Go, or Bash .
  • (Bonus) Familiarity with AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Config , or Terraform Cloud .
