SAS Consultant
SAS Subject Matter Expert (SME) – London or Northampton (Hybrid)
Location: London or Northampton (Hybrid – 3–4 days onsite)
Contract: 7 months, FTC or Umbrella Contractor, Inside IR35
A leading global FSI business is looking for a senior SAS SME to lead a critical platform migration programme from Cloudera to AWS . This is a hands-on, strategic role where you’ll define the SAS architecture, ensure seamless migration, and provide technical leadership across multiple teams.
What you’ll do:
- Lead current-state and target-state SAS architecture aligned to AWS.
- Repoint SAS workloads (ETL, models, analytics, reporting) from Cloudera to AWS.
- Provide guidance on code compatibility, refactoring, and modernization opportunities.
- Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant with banking regulations.
- Act as the technical authority, collaborating with architects, data engineers, and stakeholders.
What we’re looking for:
- 10+ years of SAS experience (SAS 9 / Viya, CAS, Visual Analytics, Model Manager).
- Proven track record of large-scale SAS migrations or cloud transitions.
- Strong AWS knowledge and experience with cloud-based data architectures.
- Understanding of banking regulatory and security requirements.
- Strong communication skills and senior-level stakeholder management.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
