Finance Director
Our client is a fast-growing provider of specialist services to the data centre industry, delivering mission-critical construction solutions to blue-chip and hyperscale clients. As the company enters a significant phase of growth and strategic transformation, it is seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead the finance function and help prepare the business for a sale to private equity.
The Finance Director will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial control, driving financial performance and positioning the company for a successful transaction. This is a hands-on role and the ideal candidate will have prior experience leading a small finance team in fast-paced, high-growth environments and will be immediately available.
Key Responsibilities in Preparation for Sale / Private Equity Readiness- Partner with the Founder and management team to create the company’s financial roadmap in preparation for investment or sale.
- Provide financial insight and analysis to support commercial decision-making, long-term planning and to inform the sale process.
- Coordinate the company’s financial and operational data readiness for a sale process.
- Oversee the preparation of robust financial models, due diligence materials, and investor presentations.
- Ensure all financial systems, controls, and reporting processes meet private equity standards.
- Work with external advisors (corporate finance, legal, tax) to manage the transaction process.
Ideal
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Proven track record as a Finance Director or senior financial leader in a services, infrastructure or building services related business
- Experience (or exposure to) of preparing a business for private equity investment or sale, including managing due diligence and liaising with advisors.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, M&A processes, and valuation drivers.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Immediate or near-immediate availability.
Desirable but not Essential
- Experience in high-growth or founder-led environments.
- Exposure to project-based or recurring-revenue business models.
- Prior experience working with PE-backed companies or managing post-acquisition integration.
- Exposure to the data centre environment will be of added value.
Salary
£100,000 to £130,000 base
