HRIS (iTrent) System Specialist

Our client’s HR Operations Team is delivering an ambitious service improvement programme aimed at enhancing payroll, pensions, HR advisory services, and the overall user experience of their digital HR platforms.

They are seeking an experienced HRIS (iTrent) System Specialist to support the enhancement and optimisation of the iTrent system. The role will focus on implementing priority change requests, improving system functionality, enhancing data quality, and ensuring the platform effectively supports HR and payroll processes.

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across HR to analyse requirements, design and test improvements, resolve technical issues, and drive continuous improvement across the iTrent platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the full lifecycle of iTrent system changes, including design, testing, deployment, review, launch, monitoring, and closure.
  • Conduct data cleansing activities and data quality improvements across iTrent fields to ensure accurate and reliable employee records.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly, escalating where necessary.
  • Collaborate with the MI Team to deliver data cleanse activities and system enhancements efficiently, including identifying risks and agreeing mitigations.
  • Manage and roll out new system checklists and functionality.
  • Work with HR colleagues to understand business needs and translate them into effective system solutions.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, providing updates and specialist expertise.
  • Share knowledge across the team and act as a subject matter expert for the iTrent platform.

Essential Experience & Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as an iTrent System Administrator or in a similar HRIS systems support role.
  • Strong knowledge of iTrent modules including HR, Payroll, and Learning & Development.
  • Demonstrable experience configuring workflows, permissions, batch processes, user roles, and automation within iTrent.
  • Experience delivering user support and resolving system-related issues.
  • Expertise in data cleansing, data conversion, and data maintenance.
  • Experience writing test scripts, conducting user acceptance testing, and supporting system upgrades.
  • Strong understanding of HR and Payroll processes and the importance of accurate and consistent data.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • A flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to support non-technical activities associated with system changes.
  • Ability to work independently, keep senior managers updated on progress, and escalate risks appropriately.
