Job Title: Deskside / End User Support Technician (2-Month Contract, Umbrella)Location: Southampton Duration: 2 months Rate: £140/day (umbrella company only)

Role Overview: We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Deskside / End User Support Technician to provide onsite IT support for end users. This is a 2-month contract role, offering the opportunity to troubleshoot, maintain, and resolve IT issues in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide first- and second-line support to end users at their desks.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.

• Install, configure, and upgrade desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices.

• Assist with password resets, software installations, and access requests.

• Escalate complex issues to the appropriate IT teams while maintaining clear communication with users.

• Maintain accurate records of incidents and resolutions in the IT ticketing system.

• Support onboarding and offboarding of employees by setting up or decommissioning IT equipment.

• Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in deskside or end user support roles.

• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Mac operating systems.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and common business applications.

• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues efficiently.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.

Desirable:

• Experience with Active Directory, remote desktop tools, or ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).

• Basic knowledge of networking and printers.

Contract Details:

• Fixed-term, 2-month contract.

• Umbrella company engagement only.

• Full-time onsite in Southampton.
