IT Solution Designer

IT Solution Designer Location: Leicestershire, LE17Contract: Full-time, Permanent (Hybrid 2-3 days per week on site).Salary - £45k plus car allowanceWe are looking for an experienced IT Solution Designer to take the lead on designing and delivering innovative technology solutions within a fast-paced logistics and supply chain environment. This is a senior role where you’ll bridge the gap between client needs and technical delivery, ensuring solutions are not only robust and scalable but also commercially effective.What you’ll be doing

• Lead solution design: Own the end-to-end process from requirements gathering through to detailed design and successful handover.
• Support commercial bids: Act as the technical lead for tender responses (RFPs/RFIs), clearly demonstrating the value and benefits of proposed solutions.
• Drive innovation: Explore emerging technologies and automation opportunities, helping to shape the future of logistics IT solutions.
• Engage with stakeholders: Work closely with sales, account management, technical teams, and clients to understand challenges and provide tailored solutions.
• Ensure governance: Make sure designs meet industry best practices around scalability, security, and compliance.
• Produce documentation: Create high-quality technical proposals, design artefacts, and supporting material.

About you We’re looking for someone with:

• 8+ years in IT, including at least 5 years in senior solution architecture/design roles.
• Strong background in logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing technology.
• Expertise with WMS, TMS, ERP integration, and courier/transport systems.
• Hands-on experience in pre-sales or client-facing technical roles.
• Knowledge of modern tech stacks: cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), infrastructure, networking, security, reporting, and automation.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to translate technical detail into clear business value.
• Strong commercial awareness, problem-solving ability, and leadership skills.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
