Paid Media Manager – Lead Generation Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 + bonus Location: Cheshire (office-based, Monday to Friday)The Opportunity An established technology products business is looking to appoint an experienced Paid Media Manager to join its in-house digital marketing team.This is a hands-on role focused on lead generation, performance optimisation, and return on investment across paid search and paid social. You’ll take ownership of paid media activity, working closely with internal marketing stakeholders and an external performance agency to deliver measurable commercial outcomes.The role suits someone who is both strategic and execution-focused — comfortable setting direction, but equally confident getting into platforms, analysing performance, and driving continuous improvement.The Role As Paid Media Manager, you will lead the planning, delivery and optimisation of paid media campaigns across multiple channels and international markets. Your focus will be on generating high-quality leads that support wider commercial objectives.You’ll bring strong analytical capability, deep platform knowledge, and a test-and-learn mindset to continually improve conversion performance.This is an office-based role, with in-person collaboration seen as key to success.Key Responsibilities Strategy & Ownership
- Own and evolve the paid media strategy across search and social channels
- Ensure paid activity aligns with broader marketing and commercial goals
- Act as the internal subject-matter expert for paid media
- Drive lead volume and quality with a clear focus on efficiency and ROI
- Set, manage and optimise performance targets across campaigns and regions
- Improve conversion rates through ongoing testing and optimisation
- Manage paid media budgets and ensure effective allocation of spend
- Apply strong commercial judgement to optimisation and investment decisions
- Track spend against budget and forecast future requirements
- Manage day-to-day relationships with an external performance agency
- Work closely with internal digital and marketing teams to align activity
- Collaborate with CRO and UX stakeholders to optimise landing pages and funnels
- Line manage a direct report and support their development
- Analyse campaign performance and turn data into clear actions
- Produce regular performance updates for senior stakeholders
- Use insight to inform planning and continuous improvement
- Ensure paid media activity adheres to brand and platform standards
- Stay current with changes across digital advertising platforms
- Share best practice and improve paid media ways of working
- 5+ years’ experience managing paid media campaigns with a strong lead generation focus
- Proven success delivering ROI through paid search and paid social
- Strong hands-on experience with platforms such as Google Ads and paid social tools
- Good working knowledge of analytics and optimisation tools
- Confident interpreting data, generating insight and making data-led decisions
- Experience managing meaningful media budgets with commercial accountability
- Clear communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally and with agencies
- Able to balance performance marketing rigour with creative testing and innovation
