IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN APPRENTICE
The ICT Technician Apprentice will support the day-to-day operations of our technical team while working towards a Level 3 ICT qualification. The role is ideal for someone looking to start a career in IT and gain practical experience across multiple platforms and systems.
Role
Key Responsibilities/Daily Tasks:
- Assisting with the administration of Active Directory (user accounts, groups, permissions)
- Supporting and managing Microsoft 365/Office 365 (user setup, licensing, basic troubleshooting)
- Working with virtual machines in a virtualised environment (creation, monitoring, basic maintenance)
- Imaging PCs and laptops, configuring devices, and preparing equipment for client deployment
- Setting up new starters and leavers for client organisations
- Providing first-line IT support and escalating issues where required
- Communicating professionally with clients via phone, email, and remote support tools
- Maintaining accurate documentation and updating support tickets
- Following internal processes, security best practices, and data protection guidelines
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong interest in IT and technology
- Basic understanding of computer systems and networks (desirable but not essential)
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Organised, reliable, and able to work as part of a team
- Professional attitude when dealing with clients
Training & Development:
- Enrolment on a Level 3 ICT Technician Apprenticeship
- On-the-job training with experienced engineers
- Exposure to real client environments and industry-standard tools
- Ongoing support and mentoring throughout the apprenticeship
Training
Information Communications Technician Level 3.
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
