Senior Telephony Engineer - 6-12 Month Contract

Role Overview

This is a senior, hands-on role focused on the design, delivery, and troubleshooting of complex voice and telephony solutions. You'll be Embedded within a large programme team, taking ownership of telephony architecture, supporting implementation, and working closely with multiple stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of a robust and scalable voice platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and troubleshoot Cisco CUBEs and complex dial plans.
  • Perform SIP troubleshooting across enterprise voice environments.
  • Design, implement, and support Microsoft Teams Direct Routing solutions.
  • Configure and support Cisco CUCM environments.
  • Work with analogue telephony technologies including gateways, wiring, MDFs, and Krone blocks.
  • Support structured cabling activities and voice infrastructure readiness.
  • Produce High-Level and Low-Level Designs (HLDs/LLDs) for complex voice solutions.
  • Apply strong networking knowledge, including routing protocols, to voice designs.
  • Operate effectively within large programmes with multiple parallel workstreams.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across technical and programme teams.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in enterprise telephony and voice engineering.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Cisco CUCM, CUBE, SIP, and dial plan design.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Teams Direct Routing.
  • Solid understanding of networking and routing principles.
  • Experience working on large transformation programmes.
  • Previous exposure to the Energy sector is beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Contract Details

  • Location: Remote (occasional on-site travel UK-wide)
  • Rate: £400-£450 Outside IR35
  • Duration: 6 months
