Senior Telephony Engineer - 6-12 Month Contract
Role Overview
This is a senior, hands-on role focused on the design, delivery, and troubleshooting of complex voice and telephony solutions. You'll be Embedded within a large programme team, taking ownership of telephony architecture, supporting implementation, and working closely with multiple stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of a robust and scalable voice platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco CUBEs and complex dial plans.
- Perform SIP troubleshooting across enterprise voice environments.
- Design, implement, and support Microsoft Teams Direct Routing solutions.
- Configure and support Cisco CUCM environments.
- Work with analogue telephony technologies including gateways, wiring, MDFs, and Krone blocks.
- Support structured cabling activities and voice infrastructure readiness.
- Produce High-Level and Low-Level Designs (HLDs/LLDs) for complex voice solutions.
- Apply strong networking knowledge, including routing protocols, to voice designs.
- Operate effectively within large programmes with multiple parallel workstreams.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across technical and programme teams.
Skills & Experience
- Strong background in enterprise telephony and voice engineering.
- Deep hands-on experience with Cisco CUCM, CUBE, SIP, and dial plan design.
- Proven experience with Microsoft Teams Direct Routing.
- Solid understanding of networking and routing principles.
- Experience working on large transformation programmes.
- Previous exposure to the Energy sector is beneficial but not essential.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Contract Details
- Location: Remote (occasional on-site travel UK-wide)
- Rate: £400-£450 Outside IR35
- Duration: 6 months
