Digital analytics plays a critical role in shaping decision-making across marketing, product, and customer experience, making this a highly visible and impactful hire.
THE TEAM
You'll join a growing customer data and digital analytics function operating across multiple specialist areas, including digital analytics, CRM, loyalty, data science, and data engineering.
This role sits within the digital analytics pillar, working closely with stakeholders across marketing, product, and technology. While some advanced modelling is handled elsewhere, this role is hands-on, insight-driven, and central to improving digital performance across a large and complex estate of digital properties.
THE ROLE
This is a hands-on Digital Data Analyst role with a strong focus on data quality, reporting, and insight generation across a large portfolio of websites. You'll work end to end; from assessing and validating data capture, through to building dashboards and translating findings into clear, actionable insight.
A key part of the role will be identifying drop-off points and friction within customer journeys, helping teams understand what's happening across digital touchpoints and where performance can be improved.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Digital Analytics & Reporting
- Produce end-to-end reports and dashboards covering digital performance across 80+ websites.
- Build and maintain reporting using tools such as GA4, Looker, Power BI, and Excel.
- Support stakeholders with clear insight to inform performance analysis and strategic planning.
Data Quality & Validation
- Assess, select, and extract data from multiple sources.
- Debug tagging issues and validate captured data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Identify gaps or anomalies in tracking and work with relevant teams to resolve them.
Journey & Performance Analysis
- Analyse customer journeys to identify drop-off points and opportunities for optimisation.
- Translate complex datasets into clear, compelling narratives for non-technical audiences.
- Contribute insight that directly supports digital, marketing, and product teams.
Collaboration & Improvement
- Work closely with internal teams to improve data usage and confidence in reporting.
- Operate comfortably in an environment where not all data is fully centralised.
- Support the ongoing evolution of digital analytics capability and best practice.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Strong, hands-on experience using GA4 (daily usage strongly preferred).
- Proven experience building custom reports within GA4.
- Experience creating dashboards in Looker and/or Power BI (examples encouraged).
- Solid understanding of web analytics and digital performance measurement.
- Experience with data validation, debugging, and tag troubleshooting (not implementation).
- Confident communicator with strong data storytelling skills.
- Enthusiastic, curious, and motivated by using data to drive real-world impact.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Clarity.
- Exposure to conversion rate optimisation (CRO) concepts.
LOCATION & WORKING ARRANGEMENT
- Hybrid working model with 50% office-based expectation.
- Minimum 1 day per week in the office, with flexibility across locations.
- Regular travel to Burton-upon-Trent (approximately every other week; at least 2 days per month).
- Alternate Wednesdays based from the London office.
- Additional travel to Burton as required for stakeholder engagement (expenses covered, subject to approval).
