ABOUT THE BUSINESS

This is a private equity-backed green technology business operating at national scale within the electric vehicle charging space. The organisation installs and manages thousands of charging points across the UK, including large-scale public sector partnerships, and is experiencing rapid growth driven by significant investment and long-term infrastructure contracts.

Data is viewed as a core strategic asset. Over the past year, the business has invested heavily in its data platform and capabilities and is now entering the next phase: using data to drive better decisions, improve customer experience, optimise operations, and demonstrate tangible commercial value across the organisation.

THE TEAM

You'll sit within a growing data function that reports directly into the finance leadership team. The group includes senior engineering and analytics capability, with further hires underway as the function scales.

The foundations are now firmly in place: modern cloud infrastructure, a centralised data platform, and business intelligence tooling rolled out across the organisation. The focus has shifted from building the platform to activating the data - and this role plays a critical part in that transition.

You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across customer success, operations, marketing, and finance, acting as a visible champion for analytics, insight, and data literacy.

THE ROLE

This is a senior, stakeholder-facing analytics and BI leadership role on a fixed-term basis, designed to help the business move from strong data foundations to clear, actionable insight.

The emphasis is on demonstrating what's possible with data, embedding analytics into decision-making, and ensuring teams across the organisation understand and trust the insights being delivered.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the analytics and BI agenda, translating business problems into actionable reporting and insight.

  • Partnering with customer success teams to develop reporting on customer interactions and experience.

  • Working with operations to build insight around service reliability, installation performance, and infrastructure health.

  • Collaborating with marketing to develop reporting on customer profiles, acquisition, and engagement.

  • Acting as a champion for Power BI adoption across the business, showcasing wins, sharing best practice, and driving consistent usage.

  • Managing senior stakeholders, setting expectations, and building strong, trusted relationships across the organisation.

  • Supporting improvements in data literacy and helping non-technical teams understand how to use data effectively.

  • Providing input into the future direction of advanced analytics, including the potential transition of existing machine learning models from third-party to in-house ownership (desirable exposure).

This role is less about building infrastructure and more about extracting value, influencing decisions, and embedding analytics into day-to-day operations.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential:

  • Previous experience managing analytics or BI professionals.

  • Strong background in analytics and business intelligence, with prior hands-on experience (including SQL).

  • Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and translate data into clear commercial insight.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and influence without authority.

  • Commercially astute, solutions-focused, and highly organised.

  • Comfortable operating in a scaling environment where structure exists but is still evolving.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in infrastructure, energy, mobility, or asset-heavy environments.

  • Exposure to cloud data platforms and modern BI stacks (e.g. AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Power BI).

  • Awareness of machine learning concepts and experience working alongside ML practitioners or models.

WHY APPLY?

  • Play a pivotal role in taking a data function from strong foundations to real business impact.

  • Work directly with senior leaders across the organisation and influence strategic decision-making.

  • Join a well-backed, mission-driven green tech business at a critical growth phase.

  • Shape how analytics is used, understood, and valued across the organisation.

  • Ideal for someone who thrives in imperfect environments and is excited by building momentum rather than inheriting a finished product.
