Please note: you must have full UK right to work and be able to commute to West London four days per week.
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
A leading UK-based organisation with a large consumer and events-focused operation, spanning merchandise, ticketing, hospitality, digital engagement, and commercial partnerships.
The business is on a mission to elevate how it uses data to understand, engage, and serve its audience. The central Data & Analytics function is instrumental in this transformation, unifying multiple data sources into a single, accessible environment to deliver actionable insight across the business. Following a recent restructure, the data function is entering an exciting phase of growth and investment, focused on delivering a cutting-edge data platform and embedding advanced analytics and predictive capabilities throughout the organisation.
THE TEAM
You'll lead a growing central data and analytics function, currently a small but capable team of engineers and analysts, with headcount expansion planned over the next year.
The team manages the full data lifecycle - from ingestion and governance through to reporting and predictive modelling, supporting departments across the organisation, including finance, digital, marketing, and operations. It's a collaborative environment that values innovation, technical credibility, and strong stakeholder relationships.
THE ROLE
As Head of Data & Analytics, you'll take ownership of the organisation's data strategy - ensuring its infrastructure, governance, and analytical capabilities evolve in step with commercial and digital ambitions. You'll lead the continued development of a centralised GCP-based data platform, bringing together data from multiple business systems to enable real-time insight and data-driven decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define and implement the data strategy, aligning it with wider commercial and customer objectives.
- Lead and evolve the centralised data platform (GCP) - integrating data from ticketing, digital, merchandise, and operational sources.
- Act as the subject matter expert for data infrastructure, architecture, and tooling.
- Oversee data governance and compliance frameworks, ensuring best practice across all data activities.
- Lead on reporting and insight standardisation through tools such as Power BI and Omni, ensuring a consistent view of business performance.
- Drive predictive analytics and machine learning initiatives, including customer lifetime value and propensity modelling.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, finance, and digital teams to ensure insights translate into measurable business outcomes.
- Build, mentor, and grow the internal data team - fostering capability across engineering, analytics, and data science.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Proven experience leading a data or analytics function, ideally within a complex consumer, retail, or events-led organisation.
- Strong technical expertise in GCP, SQL, and Python.
- Proficiency with Power BI and/or Omni (or similar tools such as Looker).
- Experience with modern data tooling (DBT, Docker) and building scalable data environments.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, compliance, and architecture best practices.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience with web and app event tracking and customer data ecosystems.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance hands-on technical leadership and high-level planning.
WHY APPLY?
- Shape and deliver the data strategy for a nationally recognised brand with a passionate audience.
- Build a modern data environment from a strong foundation, with leadership backing and growth budget approved.
- Lead major initiatives in predictive analytics, data governance, and digital optimisation.
- Work with an ambitious, collaborative team that's placing data at the heart of decision-making.
