Lead / Principle Data Science Consultant

Up to £150,000 + Benefits

Minimum 3 days per week on client site

I'm working with a well-established consulting business that is building a new data and AI function and is looking for senior hires to help shape it from the ground up.

This role sits at the intersection of data delivery, client leadership, and business development. There is committed investment and approval to grow the team to around 10 hires, giving real scope to influence how the function is built and how work is won and delivered.

You'll work closely with clients to identify high-impact opportunities for data science, AI, and advanced analytics, then lead those ideas through to real operational outcomes. Early on, a key part of the role will be shaping and winning work, alongside leading delivery on complex engagements.

You'll spend a minimum of three days per week on client site, working directly with senior stakeholders and delivery teams.

• Strong experience delivering data science, AI, or advanced analytics in a client-facing environment

• Proven ability to take ideas from concept to production

• Commercial mindset, with experience shaping or winning client work

• Excellent stakeholder communication and leadership skills

• Comfortable working on client site at least 3 days per week

• Up to £150,000 base salary

• Key role in building and scaling a new data function

• Clear progression into senior leadership / partner-track roles
