Senior IT Project Manager

Hays are supporting a SaaS company based in Cardiff to recruit an experienced Senior IT Project Manager on a permanent basis to work externally with multiple customers implementing and maintaining the organisation's product. The role offers flexible remote working with some client travel around the UK. Salary up to c£75,000pa depending on experience and competitive benefits, including private pension & bonus. Key responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with customers, understand requirements, and manage project processes.
  • Plan and execute projects in line with budgets, timelines, methodologies, and quality standards.
  • Define deliverables, tasks, and phased work plans; oversee development and delivery.
  • Estimate and schedule projects from initiation to completion.
  • Monitor progress, report status, and resolve risks and issues promptly.
  • Manage governance, communication, and stakeholder expectations; act as the primary project contact.
  • Lead, motivate, and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior IT project management role.
  • Strong understanding of the full software project lifecycle, from concept to go-live.
  • Track record of managing multiple large-scale projects within medium to large enterprises.
  • Skilled in team leadership and matrix management.
  • Ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and remove delivery blockers.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Proficient with project tools such as Jira, Tempo, Confluence, and Excel.
  • Technical background (dev) is an advantage but not essential.
