A leading public sector organisation in Newcastle is embarking on a significant digital and operational transformation. To support this, they are seeking a Senior Project Manager with strong IT and business change expertise to deliver complex, cross-functional projects that enhance customer service, streamline operations and improve colleague experience.
This role is ideal for a proactive, influential Senior PM who thrives in transformation environments and wants to make a meaningful impact within a purpose-driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex IT and business change projects, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy.
- Define scope, build project plans, identify resources, set budgets and establish governance in line with the organisation's PM framework.
- Drive risk and issue management, ensuring clear escalation routes and proactive mitigation.
- Manage delivery across multiple workstreams, including technical delivery, business readiness and process redesign.
- Ensure strong documentation, decision logs and audit trails throughout project lifecycle.
- Promote and uphold best-practice project and change management standards.
- Contribute to PMO maturity by supporting continuous improvement of tools, templates and methodologies.
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in digital transformation and business change.
Experience & Skills Required
- Strong track record delivering complex IT-led and business change projects within large organisations.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams and dependencies.
- Proven success delivering projects within time, cost and quality constraints.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making across diverse teams.
- Background within housing, social care or public sector is beneficial but not essential.
- Familiarity with systems such as Salesforce, MRI, or housing management solutions is advantageous.
