About the role The Staff Support Engineer is responsible for ensuring all IT positions within a branch are correctly configured and signed off by the Branch Manager. This role includes identifying and documenting redundant equipment, managing safe removal of hardware, and maintaining communication with the project team throughout the visit. The engineer must be prepared to work in both operational and construction environments, adhering to strict safety protocols and project procedures.Tell me more, tell me more... Below are the job details for your reference:You can also ask our friendly recruitment team for any questions you may have about the role, between 09.00am till 17.00pm Monday to Friday.Shifts: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours)Location: Cirencester: 8 Market Place Cirencester, Gloucestershire Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Contract Duration: 11th November 2025 Roles and Responsibilities:
- Test and verify the configuration of all IT positions within the branch.
- Obtain formal sign-off from the Branch Manager confirming all positions are configured and operational.
- Conduct a full sweep of the branch to identify and list all redundant IT equipment.
- Ensure all storage boxes are filled per position for removal from site.
- Safely relocate redundant desktops and laptops to designated onsite locations as directed by the customer.
- Dispose of packaging materials onsite where advised.
- Wear full PPE at all times on decommissioned or construction sites:
- Hard hat
- High-visibility jacket
- Steel-cap boots
- Goggles
- Gloves
- Nose mask
- Review and understand all documentation and instructions provided via email prior to the site visit.
- Carry a hard copy of the 'Sign-off Sheet' and ensure it is completed and submitted.
- Notify the project team upon arrival at site and again upon completion of work (including out-of-hours tasks).
- Adapt to site conditions, including those undergoing construction or not yet ready for full deployment.
Other stuff we're potentially looking for:
- Experience in IT hardware configuration and site support.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and in coordination with site contacts.
- Familiarity with health and safety protocols, especially in construction environments.
- Must be physically capable of lifting and moving equipment safely.
