Portfolio Management Analyst

Your new company
A large public sector organisation undergoing a multi-year transformation programme is seeking a Portfolio Management Analyst to support the effective delivery of change. With significant investment in digital, innovation and new operating models, this is an opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation at a pivotal moment in its development.

Your new role
As Portfolio Management Analyst, you will play a central role in shaping and maintaining the organisation's programme and project landscape. You will turn complex delivery data into clear insights, enabling senior leadership to monitor progress, manage risks and make informed decisions.

You will support agile, waterfall and hybrid programmes through the creation of accurate portfolio reports, dashboards, roadmaps and governance documentation. You will ensure plans are integrated, risks and dependencies are visible, resources are tracked effectively, and benefits are clearly defined and measured. In addition, you will contribute to continuous improvement across programme and portfolio management processes, helping to embed consistent standards and strengthen assurance.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience, plus foundation-level project or programme management training (eg, APM PFQ/PMQ).
  • Proven experience in PMO, programme or transformation environments, ideally within a complex organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of PMO controls including integrated planning, RAID management, governance and benefits tracking.
  • Ability to produce high-quality dashboards, reports and visuals using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Miro, Visio or Canva.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present clear, concise information to senior stakeholders and facilitate collaborative sessions.
  • A highly analytical, organised and solutions-focused approach with a commitment to improving processes and portfolio outcomes.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a competitive salary of £48,906 - £53,329, remote working arrangements with occasional travel as required. The organisation also offers a generous benefits package including generous annual leave, professional development opportunities, wellbeing support and a contributory pension scheme.
